Today I’m going to give you 6 great tips for contacting people the traditional “old school” way. I’ve always said you should build your MLM business both ways… use traditional methods and Internet Marketing methods.
For the record, when I say “old school” or traditional methods I’m talking about contacting people in person or on the telephone. This ususally means family and friends, but it’s also acquaintances…people you’re friendly with at work, in your neighborhood, at the grocery store, the mall, the gym, a particular restaurant, at church etc.
I know most people hate selling. If you’re one of them, then you should mainly focus on Internet Marketing. But you shouldn’t TOTALLY stop contacting people in person or on the telephone. Remember, these methods do work!
There are definitely times when you SHOULD contact people about your opportunity using “old school” methods. Especially in the these tough economic times. I’m sure you know people who have been laid-off, or their company went out of business. Most people hate their jobs and could use more money.
Remember, there are only three ways you can contact people for your business- in person, on the phone, and/or on the Internet. Today I’m focusing on the first two.
Are you ready? Use these contacting tips and you’ll have MUCH LESS rejection and frustration! Also, you’ll definitely save time.
1.) Go after people who have been in MLM/Network Marketing before…or those who are currently in Network Marketing but unhappy with their company…or those who are totally open minded to getting started in Network Marketing.
2.) Go after people who have some type of sales experience, either currently or in the past. Maybe it was selling real estate, insurance, cars, clothes, shoes, jewelry, appliances, sporting goods, telephone sales, door to door sales etc. You want people who are comfortable selling.
3.) Go after people who are into “Personal Development”. People who like personal development/self help books, cd’s, videos, attending seminars etc.
4.) Go after happy people. People who like to smile. People who like to talk… and even better people who are good at talking to others.
5.) Go after people who are well-liked, trusted and respected by others. For example- People who come from a big family and/or have many relatives they’re close to. Also, people who have many friends, co-workers, people in their neighborhood, people from church etc. they’re close to.
6.) Go after people who you believe are TRULY SERIOUS about wanting to change their lives! Open minded people who REALLY want to make more money and have more free-time! People who have BIG DREAMS and they’re looking for the right vehicle, or opportunity to achieve them!
With few exceptions, avoid contacting shy people, negative people, complainers, and people who aren’t into computers and the Internet.
Remember, most people are going to say “no” to your opportunity no matter how good you think it is. But, this information will help you sponsor new reps and build your downline. Give it a try.
